About

Kvutzat Yavne is a religious-cooperative kibbutz located near Ashdod.
The kibbutz was founded over 80 years ago. As of the early days of its establishment, food production constituted a central pillar of its livelihood.
Initially the kibbutz plant produced Fried potatoes and canned meat for the British Army.
In the 1950s, the plant started to produce canned vegetables, tomato paste, juices and fruit compotes. In 1966 its operation expanded to preserving cucumbers and olives, and over the years the plant has become one of Israel’s leading producers of pickles.
In 2017, the old production lines were replaced by new, state-of-the-art, sophisticated equipment, designed and built with a huge investment.
This transition was the realization of a vision which sees the factory as a major and significant source of livelihood for the kibbutz.
The world’s most innovative, advanced technologies were introduced in the plant and sophisticated methods were implemented.
The processes of pasteurization, seasoning, filling and packaging are all carried out in the most leading-edge automation processes in the field.
Computerized video cameras scan the olives on each side, one by one, in order to achieve a high level of sorting. The precise sorting enables to distinguish between different sizes of olives and determine their quality for further processing. By virtue of that, we were able to add quality flagship products to the factory products.
